Paris is the other capital of the Haitian diaspora: tens of thousands of Haitian families live in Paris, Montreuil, Saint-Denis and the wider Île-de-France, and the flights between Paris and the US gateways are how cousins on both sides of the Atlantic meet in the middle. Newark, JFK and Miami all have nonstops of seven to nine hours.

Entry requirements

US citizens enter France visa-free for up to 90 days; the EU's ETIAS authorization applies once fully in force, so check before travel. French and EU citizens need ESTA for the US. Haitian passport holders need a Schengen visa for France and a US visa for any US connection.
