Delta Air Lines
Delta flies from JFK and Atlanta to Santo Domingo, Montego Bay and Kingston, and is the only US airline with nonstops from New York to Lagos, Accra and Dakar. Delta has no Haiti service and none announced.
Baggage policy
Carry-on plus personal item on every fare. To the Caribbean, Main Cabin and above include one checked bag up to 50 lb; Basic Economy pays $35 online or $40 at the airport for the first bag and $45 for the second. To Lagos, Accra and Dakar, Main Cabin includes two checked bags of 50 lb each and Basic Economy includes one. Overweight 51 to 70 lb adds $100; bags over 70 lb are not accepted to West Africa. Oversized adds $200.
Changes and refunds
No change fees on Main Cabin and above for tickets originating in the US, the Caribbean or Africa; fare difference applies and cancellations become an eCredit valid one year. Basic Economy cannot be changed and cancels for a partial eCredit after a $99 to $199 deduction depending on route. Full refund within 24 hours of purchase on all fares.
Notes for Haiti and Caribbean travelers
Delta is the airline to look at for Lagos, Accra and Dakar from JFK, and for Santo Domingo and Jamaica from JFK and Atlanta. It does not fly to Haiti, and its Atlanta hub offers no Haiti connection today; Haiti travelers from Atlanta connect through Miami on American.
