Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
Paris Charles de Gaulle is the largest airport in continental Europe and Air France's hub, with connections to the French Antilles and West Africa. For the Haitian community in the Paris region, it is the link to family in the US via Newark, JFK, Boston and Miami.

Terminal and check-in
The airport is spread across three terminal zones linked by the free CDGVAL shuttle; moving between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 takes 15 to 25 minutes. Air France long-haul departs from 2E; passport control there can take 30 to 60 minutes in the morning peak. Arrive three hours ahead for US flights.
Arrival process
Non-EU passports use the PARAFE e-gates where eligible (US passports are); others queue for manual control. Bags at 2E can take 30 minutes on a full 777.
Getting to and from the airport
RER B trains to Gare du Nord and Châtelet; the Roissybus to Opéra; official taxis at a flat fare to the Left or Right Bank. Montreuil and Saint-Denis are 40 to 60 minutes by car.
Tips
US-bound flights require ESTA for French passports; apply at least 72 hours ahead. If you connect to a US flight to Cap-Haïtien, immigration happens at the first US airport, so allow three hours there.
