From Cap-Haïtien back to Atlanta you connect in Miami, and that is where you clear immigration and customs, collect your bags and re-check them for the domestic leg. The 1:15 pm departure from Cap-Haïtien on American reaches Miami at 3:15 pm, which leaves time for an evening Atlanta arrival. Miami's immigration halls are busiest between 3 pm and 7 pm when the Caribbean and South American banks land, so a three hour connection is realistic, and a longer one is calmer. Your Atlanta arrival is domestic, into the main terminal, with MARTA's Red and Gold lines right in the building.

About the airports
CAP
Cap-Haïtien International Airport
Cap-Haïtien, HT · America/Port-au-Prince
Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP), also called Hugo Chávez International, is Haiti's second airport and, since November 2024, the only one US airlines are allowed to use. It sits on the coastal plain just south of the city, a few minutes from the historic center and about 20 km from the Citadelle Laferrière and Sans-Souci Palace at Milot. The airport was expanded in 2013 to take Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft on international flights, and it now carries the bulk of Haiti's traffic with the United States: Sunrise Airways from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boston and Newark, and American Airlines daily from Miami starting November 1, 2026.
