JFK to Santo Domingo is the flagship route for New York's Dominican community, the largest outside the DR, and it shows: JetBlue and Delta both fly it nonstop, often multiple times a day, in about four hours. JetBlue departs from Terminal 5 and Delta from Terminal 4. Fares are keenly competitive most of the year and spike hard for Christmas and Semana Santa, when Washington Heights, the Bronx and Corona empty out for the island. A checked bag is included on Delta Main and on JetBlue's Blue fare but not on Blue Basic; check before you pick the cheapest line.

When to book

The Dominican Republic is a year-round market: over 10 million passengers flew between the US and the DR in the year to June 2025. Prices rise for Christmas, Semana Santa (Easter week) and July to August. February to early April and September to early November are the sweet spots. Three to six weeks ahead is a good target outside holidays.
